This guide provides step-by-step instructions for installing and configuring PADS4 Viewer on Samsung Tizen 7.0 (SSSP10) devices.

Before You Start

Supported Samsung Tizen 7.0 Devices

The following Samsung SSSP10 (Tizen 7.0) device is supported:

• SSSP10 (Tizen 7.0)

Ensure your PADS4 Server is installed and configured before proceeding.

Minimum Requirements

PADS4 Server Version: 2023.1.1 or later
Firmware Version: 1030.x or later

Ensure your device firmware meets the minimum requirements before proceeding with installation.

First-Time Setup

When you turn on the Samsung SSSP10 for the first time, a configuration wizard will start.

If the configuration wizard does not start, perform a factory reset before continuing.

Performing a Factory Reset

1. Step One

   Turn the screen off.

2. Step Two

   On the remote control, press:
   Mute + 1 + 8 + 2 + ON

3. Step Three

   Navigate to Option → Select Factory Reset.

The device will restart and display the welcome screen.

Uninstalling an App (If Required)

If you cannot access the device menu, uninstall the existing app first.

1. Step One

   Open Home Menu.

2. Step Two

   Navigate to URL Launcher Settings.

3. Step Three

   Select Uninstall.

4. Step Four

   Confirm the uninstallation.

Installing PADS4 Viewer

Step 1: Run the Setup Wizard

1. Step One

   Select Language and press Next.

2. Step Two

   Select Manual Setup and press Next.

3. Step Three

   Choose Landscape as the display orientation.

4. Step Four

   Under Player Selection, select Custom App.

Specify your PADS4 Server URL:

http://<server>/PADS4/apps/tizen  
https://<server>/PADS4/apps/tizen  

Replace <server> with the IP address or domain name of your PADS4 Server.
Ensure “PADS4” is in CAPITAL letters, or the connection will fail due to case sensitivity.

1. Step Five

   Select Skip for RM Server (if not used).

2. Step Six

   Disable Auto Power Off.

3. Step Seven

   Set the current time.

4. Step Eight

   (Optional) Set a PIN (default is 000000).

5. Step Nine

   Complete the Setup Wizard.

To launch the viewer manually:

• Open Home Menu → Select Custom App.
• If the setup wizard does not start automatically, switch to HDMI, then press Menu on the remote control and navigate to System → Setup.

Once configured, the PADS4 HTML5 Viewer will download and start automatically.

Checking Device Firmware

Ensure your Samsung SSSP10 firmware is up to date before running PADS4.

1. Step One

   Power on the screen and press Home on the remote control.

2. Step Two

   Open Settings → All Settings.

3. Step Three

   Navigate to Support → Software Update.

4. Step Four

   Verify that the Software Version is 1030.x or later.

Updating Firmware

1. Step One

   Insert a USB Stick with the latest firmware.

2. Step Two

   Press Menu on the remote control.

3. Step Three

   Navigate to Support → Software Update.

   Select Update Now and follow the on-screen instructions.

Adjusting PADS4 Viewer Settings

To access viewer settings: Hold the left mouse button or touch the screen for 3 seconds.

Enabling 4K Video Mode

Enable Ultra HD/4K via PADS4 CTRL Center:

1. Step One

   Open PADS4 CTRL Center and log in.

2. Step Two

   Go to Viewers → Select your Samsung Tizen Viewer.

3. Step Three

   Click the 3-dot menu → Select View Details.

4. Step Four

   Click the Settings Cogwheel to open Screen Settings.

5. Step Five

   Open the Style Tab and enable Ultra HD/4K Mode.

You can play only ONE 4K video per page.
