XDS 1078

This guide provides step-by-step instructions for installing and configuring PADS4 Viewer on the IAdea XDS-1078 (Android 12) device.

1. First-Time Use

Before installation, ensure that the PADS4 Server is set up and configured properly.

The minimum PADS4 Server version required is 2023.1.

1.1 Resetting the Device

If the device was previously used, perform a factory reset to clear storage and prevent software conflicts.

1. Step One

   Open IAdea Basic Settings.

2. Step Two

   Click on Advanced.

3. Step Three

   Select System.

4. Step Four

   Click on Factory Default.

5. Step Five

   Click OK to confirm.

Factory resetting will erase all data. Please back up any important information before proceeding.

1.2 Checking Device Firmware

Ensure that the firmware is updated to at least 4.0.3 or higher before installing PADS4.

1. Step One

   Open IAdea Basic Settings.

2. Step Two

   Click on Advanced.

3. Step Three

   Select Information.

4. Step Four

   Check the firmware version displayed on the right-hand side.

Required firmware version: 4.0.3 or higher.

1.3 Updating Firmware

If your firmware version is outdated, follow these steps to update:

1. Step One

   Open IAdea Basic Settings.

2. Step Two

   Click on Advanced.

3. Step Three

   Select System.

4. Step Four

   Click Firmware Update.

5. Step Five

   Click Check Latest Firmware from Internet.

6. Step Six

   If an update is available, select Update from Internet.

Firmware updates may take some time to complete.

1.4 Setting Date & Time Configuration

Incorrect date/time settings may cause certificate errors and connection issues.

1. Step One

   Open IAdea Basic Settings.

2. Step Two

   Click on Time Zone.

3. Step Three

   Adjust the Date & Time settings if necessary.

4. Step Four

   Click the Back button to save changes.

2. Installing PADS4 Viewer

Follow the steps below to install and configure PADS4 Viewer on the IAdea XDS-1078 (Android 12).

2.1 Downloading PADS4 Viewer

The PADS4IAdea.apk file can be downloaded from:

• PADS4 Server:

  https://[yourPADS4Server]/[domain]/apps  
  

  (Replace [yourPADS4Server] with your server’s IP or domain name. The default domain is PADS4.)

• Github: Download the latest version from here.

If you download the latest version, ensure that you also place it in the PADS4 Server apps directory, as the device will install the version available on the server.

2.2 Installing PADS4 Viewer

Accessing the Android Home Screen

1. Step One

   Open IAdea Basic Settings.

2. Step Two

   Click on Advanced.

3. Step Three

   Tap three times on the lower right corner of the screen.

4. Step Four

   The Android Home Screen will now be accessible.

Installation Steps

1. Step One

   Copy the PADS4IAdea.apk onto a USB stick.

2. Step Two

   Insert the USB stick into the IAdea XDS-1078 device.

3. Step Three

   Open the Files app on the device.

4. Step Four

   Click on USB Disk.

5. Step Five

   Select PADS4IAdea.apk and click Continue in the dialog that appears.

6. Step Six

   Click Install when prompted.

7. Step Seven

   Wait for installation to complete and click Done.

2.3 Setting PADS4 Viewer to Start Automatically

1. Step One

   Open IAdea Basic Settings.

2. Step Two

   Click on Advanced → Content.

3. Step Three

   Click on AppStart.

4. Step Four

   Click on (+) Advanced.

5. Step Five

   In Package Name, enter:

   com.pads4.viewer.iadea  
   
6. Step Six

   Click Set to save the setting.

7. Step Seven

   Restart the device or click Play to start PADS4 Viewer.
